About This Blog

About Me

My name is Mati, and I'm a writer and artist who just finished my last year of college. In my spare time, I am also a book reviewer, and beta reader. My goal is to provide honest feedback on the books I read, and I share my reviews here on my blog, as well as Goodreads, Amazon, B&N, Smashwords and Netgalley when applicable.

I love sci-fi, fantasy, and YA, but I am always open to new books. I'm not afraid to read Indie work, and I try to give clear examples of what I do and don't like about a book. My goal is to review how I would love to be reviewed: with honest opinions and thoughtful feedback about what I see.

I use a ten star system here on my blog, and the normal 5 star reviews elsewhere. If you're interested in having me review your work, please see my 'Review Requests' page. To find out more about my own work, feel free to visit my website at www.thecraftycoyote.com.

What My Ratings Mean

Ten Stars: A ten star book dazzles me, has me rereading it and makes
me a fan.  A ten star review is a sequel I count down for, and something
I'd recommend to a friend.

Nine Stars: I would recommend it to my friends, would read the series,
and would definitely buy a print copy if I hadn't already.

Eight Stars: A good book. It may have a few flaws, but nothing major.
I would recommend it and read future work by the author.

Seven Stars: There are flaws, but something about it appeals to me.
I may not recommend this book to everyone, but I would keep reading
the authors work.

Six Stars: A promising book. Maybe it needs some more editing, and
maybe it wasn't 'there yet'. But I didn't hate this. Sometimes books that
'aren't my cup of tea' become 6 star books.

Five Stars: There is something lacking hereThis book and I may have
not hit it off right away, or there were major problems stopping me from
really loving it.

Four Stars: This book had promise, but failed to deliver. Some major
flaws may make it hard for me to read work by this author again.

Three Stars: This book has problems, and few redeeming qualities.
I may have liked something, but not enough to maintain interest.

Two Stars: Didn't like it. Chances are I had trouble finishing.

One Star: Couldn't stand it. Something was highly offensive with this
book and I would recommend against reading it.
